You're only as old as you think you are... :)
Much will depend on what your goals are, as that leads to drive and
motivation. And if you aren't "in" it, this is an incredibly trying
race to the finish! Having children will often change those drives and
motivations and priorities in life. But look to the "after". And even
if you get to a point where the CCIE isn't in the path, then think of
how much better an engineer you have become simply being along the
path! Nothing lost here in the effort!
The oldest person (if memory serves) that I ever had in class was 63.
All the other students called him "grandpa" which he took quite well.
And then proceeded to kick their ass on some mock labs.
Enjoy the journey, and watch for the goal! While I started mine
earlier, as I approach 40 (not quite as rapidly as Anthony!) I haven't
let that slow me down any...
