Just a bit about my situation. I am 35 and have 20 years to reach my goal of being 55 and doing semi retirement where I only work parttime during the warm months. I saw the praise and excitement from employers for my ccnp and look forward for the CCIE level. With all the talk of ccie potentially losing some of it's status, i guess in 5-10 years it will help keep me employed during those years.
Also in recent interviews, each of my prospective employers were very impressed that I was even pursuing my CCIE.

Just curious, how many of you between your 35-40 and still going
chasing the lab ?
i'm feeling too old and think about to burn my cisco bridge, build
another one and
better spending my time on endeavours where the odds are more
stacked in my favour to bring the success i desire.
