RE: filtering in eigrp

I'm familiar with the variance in a route map, not the distance command. I
didn't see any reference to the distance command in your link.

Also keep in mind unlike OSPF networks where you really should only filter
on ABR or ASBR boundary routers, in EIGRP you can filter on any router in
the network. The reason I say "you really should filter only on ABR or ASBR
boundary routers in OSPF" is due to the OSPF capability or knob that allows
filtering out routes sourced from the OSPF database and destined for the
routing table or RIB. The RFC: http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2328.html states
"Each OSPF router maintains an identical database describing the Autonomous
System's topology". This is not the case in EIGRP.
