I couldn't either. It is indeed a hidden command as you said

ppp chap ignoreus
This hidden command ignores CHAP challenges with the local name (the
default value is enabled).

Subject: ppp chap ignoreus
I ran into a problem with a ppp over frame relay task yesterday where the
requirement was that both devices were required to use the same username. I
spent way more time than I should have trying to figure out a way to do this
with no luck. I couldn't find ppp chap ignoreus in the command reference,
and
it's a hidden command. Is the only purpose of this command to keep a router
from ignoring a challenge from a hostname that's in its local name or does
it
do anything else?
