Re: Multicast IGMP - "General Query" and "Query Membership"

Hello,

Membership Query is what they were called in igmpv1. When igmpv2 came out,
they were broken up into General Queries and Group-Specific Queries, with
the General Query taking the role of the old Membership Query. I never
noticed that the timer did not change before. It looks like Cisco will use
the v1 interval for all versions, by default. You can change it of course:

R1(config-if)#ip igmp query-interval 125
