Hi Nicky,
I think what you mean is a group specific query instead of query membership?
If not then i am wrong. :)

The general query is send from the querier (the router) if he wants to know
if a host is interested in any group. (IGMPv1/2)
The group specific query (query membership?) is send when the router would
like to know the membership for receivers on a particular group. Like after
it has received a igmpv2 leave from a endhost and he would like to know if
there are any others interested in it. (IGMPv2 only)
