Hi there,
I am writing some scripts with SNMP and I am trying to think some ways of
identifying that an interface is either a trunk port (trunk oper status) or
an access interface between two switches (nontrunk oper status).
For the "trunking oper status" I am already using an SNMP OID
(1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.46.1.6.1.1.14) which says if the port is trunking (INTEGER:
2) or if it is not trunking (INTEGER: 1). The fun is in trying to identify
an access port between two switches (not tagging), or the contrary would
work too, identifying an interface that is connected to a host (not swtich).
Should not rely on CDP, Interface admin status, vlan, etc...
Anybody that can think of some way or been there, done that?
