Hmmm. I don't remember that lab specifically but I will throw some
things out there that helped me:
1. There are technical mistakes in all of those labs. Either they
break their own rules, or their solution disregards another task. I
was annoyed with these things at first, but then I realized that the
fact that I could spot them meant I was learning.
2. Do you read the entire lab first? Do you make use of the
diagrams? Really good use? A dry erase marker works surprisingly
well on the laminated sheets they give you. Do you draw out your BGP
connections? Your multicast routers? Which routers need IPV6?
Especially multicast, which I always found to be a complain pain in
the butt... I'd draw it out, so I can see where the RP is.. and where
I needed to ping and what I needed to ping it from.
3. Are you using TCLSH and macros to ping constantly? Always keep
the pings going.
4. If you don't know how to do something... make it work (break the
rules if need be) and then come back to it. That way you can get
other things out of the way. Sometimes a break helps.
Hope that helps, I will write back if I can think of anything more.
I'll try to dig out my lab workbook and see what was on that
particular lab this afternoon.
