Sounds like you gave it a good shot, so good for you.
The only comment I have is...once you look at that number in your sig, then
decide you don't need it and that it doesn't define you is when you actually
achieve something. It's just like anything else difficult in life...you
gain the experience from the process and continually grow. Some people just
happen to have that moment while studying for the CCIE (and/or passing).
