That's right what you said.
Yes we can build the legacy GRE tunnels but there will be more complexity
when there r multiple PEs (anyway thts a separate story)....my question is
more on finding the rational behind the removal of the feature? Legacy GRE
could have been created even before the MPLS mGRE feature came....Cisco must
have thought something...??

Hi group,
These features were available in the 12.0S series on 7200 and no more exits
in the newer versions. So is there any similar new stuff introduced that
replaced these interesting/useful features..i'm asking specifically for
7200's. Of course lots of new hardware have been introduced (CRS, devices
based on XR etc.) but whts the point of removing the feature..
For e.g. how do we run MPLS VPNs if the SP core is not MPLS enabled without
a multipoint solution (just hypothetical)? We hv go bak to the old IOS???
Also does this mean there is no FRR in the SP lab anymore?
