Hi

I have checked ping from PC to PC in 6500 and the problem haven4t occured.

There is another 7200 connected with the same 6500 and they didn4t lose ping
from each other. But this 7200 is connected with a fiber cable and 1Gbps.

As Forg said, check PC to PC as well in order to really isolate that this
will be only the issue from 7200 to 6500

Hi Rob,

The buffers are OK.

I entered the command "show ip icmp rate-limit" and I saw a lot of packets
unreachable ONLY from fa0/1.1.

The number is growing.

The default command is "ip icmp rate-limit unreachable 500". I have tried
to put 50000, 60000... But It haven4t done any result.

Another suggestion?

Rodrigo

Hi Rodrigo,

some time ago I suffered some stuff like that, in fact the problem came
because a interface buffer overflow. You will find more information at this
document.

If you inspect the interface buffer of 7200 you will realize they are too
smalls.

PLS confirm it helps or not.

Hi my friends,

I am studying for CCIE Lab R&S, but a problem at my work is getting me
nervous this days.

Topology:

7200 - fastethernet 0/1 (100Mbps FULL) <--------------> 6500 - fastethernet
5/48 (100Mbps FULL)

Every time that I started a ping of 1000 packets of 100 bytes, I lost ALWAYS
1% of the total of packets sent.

It is a strange behavior because I am in LAN .

Does anyone get a similar problem?

7200 fa0/1 is configured with encapsulation dot1q with 2 VLANS and 6500 side
is configured with trunk .

We have tried to change cable, port...

The utilization in fa0/1 7200 port is average 40Mbps to 50Mbps.

There aren4t errors in this interfaces.

Thanks for anyone can helps

Rodrigo
