Hi,
With the neighbour statement configured in RIP, it does send updates out the
interface as unicast to the neighbor. However, if that interface is not made
passive it continues to send multicast updates (224.0.0.9) as well.
In EIGRP a passive interface will not send out hellos. If does not send out
hellos, it will not form neighbor relationship as well. So for unicast
updates in EIGRP out a particular interface, in addition to configuring the
neighbour statement and the interface, the interface should not be made
passive. (neighbor statement in eigrp also requires the interface to
configured)
