*Task 5.15,*
Assume that Area 78 will be redistributing Rip. Make sure that no more than
60 routes are learned via Rip before redistribution is stopped at that
threshold.
The solution I configured on R7 and R8, is
*conf t
router ospf 1
redistribute maximum-prefix 60 100
end*
Here the threshold is set to 100, whereas in the PG the solution is given to
be *"redistribute maximum-prefix 60" *
So when I re read the question ..and concentrate on the keywords in the
latter part of the question, *"redistribution is stopped at that threshold"
* which implies that no matter what, the router must not re-distribute more
than 60 external routes ..I mean they are reffering to* "60 routes as the
threshold"* and are *really not bothered about what threshold value the
warning is genereated at. *
Just the use of *"threshold" word in the question is making things twisted
for me. *Am I correct with the explaination or with my solution?!
One more,
*Task 5.13*
Summarise the networks advertised by R4, these networks are 172.4.0.4 -
172.4.3.4/24
Now, since Router4 is a part of area 246 only ..and since area 246 has two
ABRs Router2 and Router6. They both must be configured with *"area 246 range
172.4.0.0 255.255.252.0".*
I know I am correct on this one for sure(don't burst my bubble) but the
solution in the PG configures the summary on R2 only. Can you explain, why
?!
There, is one from frame relay task as well ..but there I have figured where
I went wrong, and have made a note of it. All other tasks were smooth.
I am looking forward from hearing my gurus at IpExpert and others as well.

Andy H.
