Hi Splinter,

Try to "speak" isis level-2 on interfaces that connects both routers.
Right now you have one link connecting both routers and speaking isis level-1, so you get level-1 neighboring. If you connect both routers with a link speaking level-2, you will get level-2 neighboring.

Asunto: Multiple ISIS area on same router

Hi All,

I am having a issue with the following:

on R2 I have all the fastethernet sub-int in level1 and looback0 in level-2
on R7 the same loopback0 also in level-2

for level-1 area is 49.0010
for level-2 area is 49.3010

R2:
interface Loopback0
 ip address 172.10.0.2 255.255.255.255
 ip router isis
 isis circuit-type level-2-only

router isis
 net 49.0010.0000.0000.0002.00
 net 49.3010.0000.0000.0002.00
 metric-style wide

R7:
interface Loopback0
 ip address 172.10.0.7 255.255.255.255
 ip router isis
 isis circuit-type level-2-only

router isis
 net 49.0010.0000.0000.0007.00
 net 49.3010.0000.0000.0007.00
 metric-style wide

i see the neighbourship between all the level1 routers but not between R2
loop0 and R7 loop0.

please assist.
