RE: HSRP Ver 1 and Ver 2

When you issue the "show standby" command, you can tell which version
your running by looking at the first line of output. With version 1, it
doesn't say, but with version 2, it clearly does say. I labbed it up and
this is what it shows:

R1#show standby
FastEthernet0/0 - Group 1 <<<<< nothing here
  State is Active
    5 state changes, last state change 00:00:19
  Virtual IP address is 192.168.1.254
  Active virtual MAC address is 0000.0c07.ac01
    Local virtual MAC address is 0000.0c07.ac01 (v1 default) <<<< this
also tells you which version
  Hello time 3 sec, hold time 10 sec
    Next hello sent in 1.904 secs
  Preemption disabled
  Active router is local
  Standby router is 192.168.1.2, priority 105 (expires in 9.860 sec)
  Priority 110 (configured 110)
  IP redundancy name is "hsrp-Fa0/0-1" (default)
R1#

R2#show standby
