I think everyone AIMS to pass on the first try! But the reality is that
most do not. Being a pragmatist or realist is important to help manage
the stress level during the exam day! I have seen too many people put
too much pressure on themselves, and then when the first thing goes
wrong, the entire day unravels.
Many people do plan to take the exam more than once. Some say the first
attempt is for recon only. If they pass, great, but otherwise, there is
no inherent pressure which actually makes the day much more relaxing!
Everyone's game is a little different, but in the end, it boils down to
psychological control.
No matter how they divide up the pieces, the exam is still only about
70% technology-oriented. The other 30% is purely in your head, meaning
the psychology of your stress and how you handle the day!
Take that as you will for point translation, but the quick and easy says
that you can psyche yourself out enough that you'll fail despite the
fact that you really know everything on the exam!
