RE: LinkedIn

LOL. I think half their engineers on LinkedIn are in my network (I'll login
just to find out).

Like I said, I only raise this every 3 months or more, when the topic comes
up (and no, I didn't ask Rene to accidentally post his request to GS). For
every one post about this I've made to GS (probably about 3 in total since I
joined GS in 2006) I've helped land at least 2 other engineers a job or put
them in touch with a great recruiter (for no commission - that's not my
business) so I figure you'll all be pretty forgiving. This is my last post
on this thread - I'm not here on GS to plug LinkedIn, just to help people
where I can. J

Cheers,

No stress, Rene. You'll see emails like this on Groupstudy every so often.

Well, I'm proud to be both your first connection and your instructor this
week - enjoy LinkedIn.

In the spirit of the topic (as I do every 3 months or so) if anyone wants to
connect to me on LinkedIn I accept all invites, have the largest (I think
that's still true) network of any CCIE (I'm listed in TopLinked.com now, but
haven't checked my latest ranking in ages) and will add at least 750,000
extended connections to your network immediately as that's the size of my
second degree network (which becomes part of your third degree network).

Oh, competitors, students, whoever, all connections are welcome - I'm not
selective and if my network can ever help you out in a personal or
professional capacity (common sense applies here) I'll do what I can to
shake it up - it's the best tool around to get yourself unsolicited job
offers (please don't send me offers, I'm very happy where I am, but I'll
gladly forward them to those in need).
