I've mentioned a few times on here that the CCIE R/S lab environment does
not necessarily reflect the hardware profile that many companies have
deployed; much of the 65xx chassis / line cards come with their own caveats
and new features as you mention (VSS, MEC, etc.). Additionally, Cisco is
pushing for a migration to Nexus switches for the Data Center and that runs
a completely different codebase. Even though this all is discussed in jest,
I seriously wonder how long it will be before a CCIE level test is created
using 65xx / Nexus platforms. Perhaps with the Data Center 3.0 idea they
also should consider a CCIE DC Track (heck, there's more $$$ in that than
wireless).

I think if it was a sales thing, they'd add some Cat6500-VSS 1440s or
Nexus7000s to the lab exam. (No, don't even say CSR-1!) Oh man, I hope
I didn't give "them" any ideas! That would be a pretty smart move by
Cisco. I could see the year-end earnings go through the roof. Stock
price would follow! :)

I agree. Unless it's a sales thing. We're coming up on quarter-end,
aren't we? Or year-end? :)
It'll make some sales reps really happy if we all rush out to buy
3560E's. But I hardly think it's necessary!
