Re: CiscoWorks - integrating QPM with LMS (slightly OT)

Hi Martin,

I didn't say anything about co-location :-) -- I've got LMS and QPM
running on separate servers.

This morning I successfully got QPM's DCR running as a slave to LMS's
master DCR.

So far, so good.

There are a few database fields supported by LMS (Common Services
3.1.1) that are not supported by QPM (Common Services 3.0.5). They
are:

secondary_username ("Secondary username used to access the device,
when device access using the primary credentials fails.")
secondary_password ("Password for the secondary username.")
 secondary_enable_password
snmp_v3_priv_algorithm ("SNMPv3 privacy algorithm used in AuthPriv
mode. Can be DES, 3DES, AES128, AES192, and AES256.")
snmp_v3_priv_password ("SNMPv3 privacy password of the device in
AuthPriv mode.")
secondary_http_username ("HTTP-interface secondary user ID of the device.")
secondary_http_password ("HTTP-interface password for the secondary
user ID of the device.")

In our environment, this shouldn't be a problem. We simply won't use
those fields, or if we do, we'll accept that QPM can't/won't use them.

(having LMS 3.1 and QPM 4.1 would be nice, though. it's a pity Cisco
are so tight with product upgrades, even with SAS!)

cheers,
Dale
