Sergei,
RPF checks are still performed from the receiver towards the source RP and then when the packet switches to the SPT, the same rules apply there as well. This is why it's a good idea to send a number of a packets and watch your mroute to make sure that once you join the SPT, it's still a valid path. A good example would be a Hub and spoke Frame-Relay arrangement with your MA/RP as the hub. There won't be any RPF failures for the hubs, but if one of the hubs is a source and the other a receiver, then issues will crop up once the SPT is joined is.

Subject: Auto-RP and RPF checks
Hi!
Need some clarification on this: If using Auto-RP, as we know Candidate RP
and Mapping Agent announcements are subject to RPF Check failures and thus
can require some workarounds(ip mroute, tunnels). BUT my question is should
I check this RPF from receiver of multicast also to the the Candidate RP or
only to the MA, because only source of multicast traffic unicast with RP,
and I(receiver) only need to communicate with my MA and to check my RPF to
him.
Thanks!
