Going down the path is good:
Ex #1: While flex links may disable spanning tree, should we not be aware that there has to be more than one port involved, and have to assure ourselves of no loop in a network per the design?
If I ask you how you can drive to work in the morning, and you answer an M1 Abrahms tank... While you are not exactly WRONG, it is clearly not a feasible answer given the limited information in the question I gave you.
Ex #2: I suppose this would depend on what the exhibit showed. If you saw:
Rack1SW1(config)#cdp hold 300
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
Rack1SW1(config)#
I could care less what the maximum value is. I know that 300 is not a valid number to put in. That's all I have to answer. If they ask me "What is the maximum hold time for CDP?" THEN I would expect to know 255 and think that were quite trivial.
I think you are correct in thinking about not wanting to get hung up on any actual answer, because you assume it's a detailed trivia game at that point.
Let's look at it a different way. You have 30 minutes to answer four questions. That means you have 7.5 minutes a piece to figure something witty to say.
Most people, according to Cisco, finish in 12 minutes. That means 3 minutes per witty answer. Some you may know quickly, so we'll assume 30-45 seconds there. Which means you have more time for the "less sure" ones.
If you have a thought, describe it. How would you explain/answer to your friend? AFAIK, you aren't limited to 20 characters or less.
