I would suggest following through on the professional level certifications
first. This allows you to build a solid foundation on which to move to the
CCIE level from.

There are plenty of good materials out there to help prepare for the CCIE
written and lab. I would suggest utilizing more than one vendor for your lab
practice materials. This will give you the advantage of different views and
different topologies on which to build your knowledge.
