Darby,

CCIE (Security) v3 go-live date is April 20, 2009 (next week); CCIE (Voice) v3 go-live date is July 16, 2009. Going by past annoucements, one will think that Cisco will allow these new changes to settle down before adding another layer of changes.

So, I will still hold-out hope behond mid-july; maybe sometime in 2010; when they would have gotten enough customer response/feedbacks and might have twinkle the current R&S Open-ended format/question to achieve their set objectives.

  It is now mid April...

  Let's wait till mid-July...

I expect that if Cisco is wise, then there will be an announcement to the effect that all tracks will now have Open-Ended Questions. Unless Cisco just needs to bolster the numbers and does not care where they come from...

Not yet, only R&S for now, their annoucement tend to indicate that, they will be considering it for other tracks.

As in other things, the R&S track is always the guinee pig; if it become "successfull" whatever that means; I would not be surprise to see them roll it out in the other track. Since its debut in R&S about 3-4 years ago, we are still waiting for Cisco to rollout its Assessor Lab in the other tracks and it has not yet happen; maybe this might be different, who knows.

does the open-ended question apply for all CCIE tracks (SP, security and
R&S) or is it just for R&S?

      Thanks,
