Is that the decay time though or the penalty? I had a question in an
INE Poly Lab recently about making the decay time equal 5 minutes. I
couldnt find anything in the Cisco documentation about how this is
calculated.

Apparently it is based off the half-life and/or max-suppress values
though. I am yet to test this but when I get a chance I will confirm.

R3(config-router)#bgp damp 7 750 2000 15
R3(config-router)#do sh ip bgp d p
 dampening 7 750 2000 15
  Half-life time : 7 mins Decay Time : 300 secs
Max suppress penalty: 3310 Max suppress time: 15 mins
  Suppress penalty : 2000 Reuse penalty : 750

If anyone has info on this please reference it for us thanks!
