VTP version and Etherchannel

Hello friends, i have a questions that i want to clear up.

Can vtp version create a problem in trunk negotiation, what i mean to say i
have some issues working with switches having different IOS, 12.2 (25) VTP 2
and 12.2 (37) VTP 1 by default. so when i created etherchannel, i had
difficult time in getting vlan information propagated across the
etherchannel. but whn i set vtp ver 2 on all switches, it worked fine. i
wanna know if this thing can be a problem so i can be ready for it in lab.
