What is your tunnel config?
Only thing to keep in mind is the source interface. If the Is part of a vrf, you need to use the tunnel vrf command. If not, you don't need it.

Subject: Tunnel from VRF-lite router

hello guys

I have a 'strange' problem with the tunnel interface that is not coming up
when configured from a vrf-lite router.

R1---------------------->R2--------->R3-------------R4-----------R5
vrf-lite CE PE P PE CE vrf RED
vrf RED

i have the vrf RED routes on both the CE routing tables. recently i wanted
to create a tunnel interface between the 2 sites and it just doesn't come
up.

when i configure a tunnel interface on any PE router to the R5 CE router is
works well.

Any magic that is required on the vrf-lite router to get this to work?

Regards
