There are some really common ones, like RFC1918, that stick in my
brain. Aside from that and a handful of others (RFC1149 and RFC2549
are particularly important), there is simply no room in my head for
practically useless trivia like RFC numbers.

In the real world, I'm going to use a search engine, and figure it out
11 seconds later.

If I'm asked to quote an RFC number in an OEQ, and I determine that
(and questions like it) is the reason I failed my exam, I'd be
extremely tempted to brush my hands together, say "good luck with
that, Cisco!", and walk away.

Seriously...
