Looking at your description, I would just redistribute those networks into
OSPF (using route-map filtering).
Putting those networks in diff ospf area doesn't make it *external*. They
are still internal to ospf. Additionally, be aware that CCIE lab prohibits
creating new ospf area(s) to suite one's needs.
