Chris Bryant from Trainsignal has one of the best refresher courses
available - His CCNA/CCNP products are geared for CCIE's to be.
Despite the fact the CCNA/CCNP materials say CCNA or CCNP, the truth is they
rival, equal, or exceed many other COD/VOD produced at the CCIE Level in
terms of completeness per technology covered.
And the price is very competitive - well it's cheaper mostly that the CCIE
Products.
When we consider there is about 90% overlap and that in many cases the TS
stuff is qualitatively better.
Make your own choice.
Something to consider.
Granted most labs are not multi-protocol however they are great for
per-technology and are very illustrated, demonstrated, and orchestrated.
No comparison in some cases.
Consider BGP:
Bryant goes into about a 4.5 hour lecture with practical examples. No gab
- all meat.
Here's a random quote I just pulled up:
http://kintner.wordpress.com/2008/03/19/trainsignal-bgp/
"I made it through the four videos on BGP from Trainsignal yesterday. I
think the total length of that section was about 4 and a half hours. WOW.
Those videos covered a LOT more on BGP than either of the books Ive read."
He does this on every topic.
CCIE Vendors cover either the basics or the caveats.
Bryant covers the technology from the eyes of a child and beyond.
From what I've seen about the open-ended questions so far - there is really
only one choice to completely and comprehensively cover the material.
Choose wisely.
Here's my basis. I use a video from a vendor and then I take a set of
practice exams that map to the subject. If there are gaps, fine, I note it.
Bryant did an excellent job for all subjects covered.
In short he followed the methodology that was similar to what Minasi did for
Windows so long ago.
