Port channel goes in suspension state 6500

Hi All,
i have an etherchannel configured between 6500's. Which stays up for
a while when you no shut but after a while it goes in the suspension state
and stays there connectivity is lost as well. Cant find a reason for that.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
