Jeff, source does not have to send IGMP JOIN message at all. In fact, it
would be completely pointless.
Source should just send the packet, and that is it.
Router will intercept the packet and register to RP or forward it, depending
on the tree state.
Also, Switch knows where to forward the multicast packet because it knows
where the IGMP queries come from, therefore this port is mrouter port, and
multicast packets will be destined there. This is just an additional note,
since multilayer switch does not have to solve this dilemma.
