Yes ALL your questions are valid. I did not really help myself to be
helped did I ? Okay tail between legs now :)

1. Linux novice
2. Dynamips ...just know of it have been on the instructions page ..not
even finished reading it yet
3. From the old school so I have 9 routers & 4 switches in the corner
(inc a 2501 with a transceiver...remember them ? ) and a 2511 with two
octopus cables ..remember them ?
4. Last attempt ..probably one of the 1st few 1-day ccie labs in Bru.. I
remember twas just after attending Caslow's bootcamp and I could have
been stuck in Virginia ..I left Caslow's camp on 09/09/01 ... one try at
the 2-dayer earlier got to the trouble-shooting on day 2 but proctor was
not convinced :)

Got the pic ?

ccie friend said I still had it in me ..go for it but forget your routers
in the corner get GNS3 !

I thought before I even begin let me ask the group if my fedora could cut
it ? Thats really where I am at.

Help us help you. Tell us what you've tried. Have you read the

FAQ/Tutorial and followed it step by step? What happened? Have you

tried asking the same question in a dynamips/dynagen forum? Tell us

what your strengths/weaknesses are -- are you new to Linux for

example? Provide actual outputs/links to screenshots, if you think

that would help.

Generally speaking, one modern Linux distribution should not behave

significantly differently to another -- the wrapping might look

different, but essentially it's all Linux under the hood. I would

suggest that changing distributions is a big fat waste of time.

I'm not claiming to be a dynamips expert by any stretch, but I've got

it up and running and "playing nicely" on about 5 different machine

types, using Windows and Linux, and I haven't found a case yet where

Reading The Fine Manual or searching the archives of relevant forums

didn't result in success.

cheers,

Dale
