To all BGP guru,
There are two BGP AS#: AS 7440 and AS 7449 connected each other.
Topology:
R1 (PE) --- R2(P) ---- R3(ASBR) ---- R7 (ASBR)---- R8(P) ---- R9(PE)
R1, R2 and R3 are in AS#7440, the others are in AS 7449.
After I configure R7 for BGP Dual AS support, I can not traceroute to R9
from R1 or R3 anymore but I can ping it. Is this behavor normal? I saw on R9
that traffic to AS#7440 is via R7 but through AS#7440 direct in BGP table
which seems to be the cause.
Can someone tell me if this is expected with BGP dual AS config?
Thanks,
