Well, the answer is yes ..vtp transparent mode does support forwarding of
vtp advertisments. By default vtp advertisments are sent out every 5
minutes, so it will take some time for the changes between the client and
the server to get reflected. And yes vtp advertisments are sent out only on
trunk ports.

If you dont want to wait create/delete/modify the vlan database of the
server, and the changes would be reflected immediately, as flash updates(if
you will) in vtp are supported as well.
