Congrats Kumar. I just sat for my 2nd attempt for R&S this last Tuesday in
San Jose and failed. I was not going to post anything but read your message
and it really summarizes what you should do on the exam.
After I sat and read the exam I was really excited because I felt confident
about 95% of the questions. I was in control. Then after lunch I ran into
a problem that I should have just let go and came back to later. Instead I
spent 2 hours troubleshooting the problem when come to find out it was a
very simple solution. But I ran out of time for the rest of the exam. I
should have only spent 10 minutes on the problem then came back to it! Then
I would have probably seen the answer right away and would have finished
other tasks and earned points during that time period. My problem is that
by nature I do not like to move on when running into a problem that "I know"
can solve.
I was contemplating sitting for a 3rd attempt, but I am so close now I don't
want to give up. Enjoy your new CCIE number :)
