Re: PROBLEM WITH ETHERCHANNEL

It looks like you only sent this to me ... I have re-added the list. Hope
this is what you wanted.

Here is my configs and set up.

SW3 and SW4 are the SP switches or the ones that I want to 'disappear' and
'hide' from sw1 and sw2. SW3 and SW4 have a trunk link between and are
sharing vtp, cdp etc ... all looks well with the trunk between sw3 and sw4.
Make sure that the trunk is up and going, and vtp is up first before moving
on.

Configured on both SW3 and SW4, for the links going to SW1 and SW2 (if the
format looks messed up, unicast me and I will attach a txt file to you):

interface GigabitEthernet0/1
 switchport access vlan 31
 switchport mode dot1q-tunnel
 l2protocol-tunnel cdp
 l2protocol-tunnel stp
 l2protocol-tunnel vtp
 l2protocol-tunnel point-to-point pagp
 l2protocol-tunnel point-to-point lacp
 l2protocol-tunnel point-to-point udld
 no cdp enable
!
interface GigabitEthernet0/2
 switchport access vlan 32
 switchport mode dot1q-tunnel
 l2protocol-tunnel cdp
 l2protocol-tunnel stp
 l2protocol-tunnel vtp
 l2protocol-tunnel point-to-point pagp
 l2protocol-tunnel point-to-point lacp
 l2protocol-tunnel point-to-point udld
 no cdp enable

I prefer to LACP for everything ...

While you are t-shooting this, might be best if you keep it simple and just
verify that SW3 and SW4 are 'hidden' after these configs. sho cdp nei on
sw1 and 2, and you will not see sw3 or sw4.

Next configure trunk links on sw1 and sw2 so that they can share vtp and
pass vlan tags etc between them ... . Use dot1q for everything. Create a
vlan on sw1 and verify it shows up on sw2.

On SW1 and SW2, I configured normal etherchannel first and then L3. After
L3 etherchannel was configured, I pinged, checked cdp nei, etc ...
