Im an American who lived there for almost 3 months, GREATEST PLACE ON EARTH! If only I could call it home for a longer time. As mentioned, visit Bondi beahc and also Shelley Beach. If you like bars and hang out spots head over to Manly, there are lots of Brits, but really cool and fun to chill with and watch the ocean. Clearest water as well.
From Sydney, take the Jet Cat to Manly and you will love it. If you like tourist stuff, I was amazed by their zoo.
Regards,
James
