Hummm ... using something designed for inter-as / inter- domains, separate
'zones' ... something made for 'tweak-ability' and stability versus using a
protocol made for 'auto-magic' and quick convergence ... hummm ;-)

A concern for your internal network, is BFD supported on all devices, line
cards, versions of IOS ... nope, not yet. Can all your devices run BGP ...
hummm ... are all the tweaks available w/ your equipment and are they
practical to turn on ...

There are a lot of enhancements for BGP to make it converge quicker, but it
is simply not designed or intended to be used as an IGP.

Can you fit a round peg into a square hole? Yep, I believe in you! You can
probably do it with some tweaks ... but why? I guess if a requirement for
the lab, that would be a good reason. ;-)

An interesting and open question Kelvin ... nice!
