1) shouldn't matter, unless requirements are more specific

2) If you are asked to use static RP then yes, configure the same command on
each router in the multicast AS

3) This command overrides the assignment of the BGP next-hop to the locally
originated VPNv4 and IPv4 MDT routes. By default the next-hop will be set to
the IP address of the "update-source interface". Your PE could for example
be the only router in the AS with several inter-as eBGP connections. If you
don't use that command, the next-hop in that case would be the set to the
physical IP address of the eBGP source. If you use that command, the
next-hop will be reset to Loopback0.

4) This command cannot be manually configured or removed. It only applies to
12.0S IOS (and I think 12.2S also). It doesn't show up in 12.4T for example.
This command automatically appears on an interface configuration as soon as
an eBGP VPNv4 directly connected neighbor is activated. It also
automatically generates a /32 connected route for the directly connected
neighbor's interface IP.

5) frame-relay interface-dlci is configured on Point-to-Point or Multipoint
subinterfaces to indicate which subinterface the DLCI belongs to.
frame-relay map ip 10.10.24.4 204 broadcast is configured to map the
remote router IP address 10.10.24.4 to the local DLCI. Airport analogy, you
are mapping flight destination to the locally significant airport gateway.
You don't need this command on a point-to-point subinterface. You need this
command on multipoint and physical interfaces (if not relying on dynamic
frame-relay inverse arp)

I'll respond to the rest a little later or someone else can pick up, gotta
run...

Subject: Misc. CCIE SP questions

Hello everyone,

Unicast answers are welcomed.

1) In the exam, if i am asked to advertise networks into IGP (OSPF), is it
safer to make it more specific /32 or less specific /24?

2) If i'm asked to make R1 the RP (Rendez-Vouz point), then do i configure
the command : ip pim rp-address lo0 on R1 or on all routers in the topology
with lo0 replace with R1 lo0 address?

3) What is this command used for "bgp next-hop Loopback0" under a VRF?

4) What is this command used for "mpls bgp forwarding" under an interface?

5) When configuring Frame Relay, what is the difference between configuring
the below, when do i need both together?
                 A) frame-relay map ip 10.10.24.4 204 broadcast

                 B) frame-relay interface-dlci 204

6) What could go wrong if i didnt configure bgp or ospf router-ID ?

7) Could anything go wrong if i didnt configure passive-interface under RIP
or any IGP for interfaces that will not receive routing info?

8) What type of problems could "ip pim dr-priority 0" solve in the exam
other than the obvious (setting the priority)?

Thanks,
Kas
