There is an older book by Sybex on MPLS written for the CCIP. Maybe not the
most current but filled with lots of hands-on examples. Fills the gap and
is very readable. You can probably read it in a day or two if all you want
it a good solid foundation for MPLS.
NLI actually writes a very decent CCIE Written Exam Product.
Wendell Odom writing for Cisco Press is up to the 3rd edition.
The older Boson test engine for the CCIE Written is a classic.
One of the best tools available for any serious CCIE Candidate is:
Trainsignal's CCNP Product Line. I've heard whispers that the explanations
there equal or exceed (exceed was the direct quote) the quality of some
triple and maybe more now CCIE's dev=pending on who the persons were that
were referred to.
I've used some of Bryant's materials and I can tell you they are
qualitatively a step above the norm. Only wish he'd take it to the next
level.
But for all the concepts and practicals needed to devour the CCIE Written,
you'd be hard pressed to compete with the guy - even though the product line
is sold as CCNP-level.
What's really missing are some CCIE Written Prep books for SP, current
Security, SAN, and Voice - nevermind the CCDE and WLAN tracks that are in
their pre-natal stages.
