Congrats Marijo! Earning that number is indeed a big day and arguably more
important than anything to do with politicians! ;~)

Subject: Passed in Brussels yesterday

Hi guys,

It's a big day for the US today and it is a big day for me :-)

Yesterday I passed the RS exam in Brussels on my first attempt. I still
cannot believe it. It was such a great feeling when I logged in and saw
the status "passed" and my number 23245.

I arrived in Brussels on Sunday and stayed at the NH Hotel which I can
really recommend. It's only a 5 minutes walk away from the Cisco
building.
Enough for me two have a cigarette during the walk :-)

The first 20 Minutes I read the whole exam using the diagram as the
reference. At this stage I already made some notes.

Do not get nervous if some other guys already started typing.

Until lunch time I was doing pretty good. Skipping one or two tasks
I managed to complete almost the whole exam. Only three more tasks to
solve
after lunch. I think this was the most important thing...SPEED...I had
then approx. 3 hours for double checking my config, asking the proctor
and running the ping script a few times.

Here is what I used for preparation:

- almost all InternetworkExpert products: Audio Classes, Advanced
Technologies CoD, Workbook Volumes I,II and III (all Version
4.1)
These are great materials and they really helped me
understanding the
technologies and speeding up my configurations

- Cisco ASET Labs: I was lucky that the company I work for is a
Cisco
channel partner. So I got the
opportunity to use
these labs. So check with your company
how their
                                 status with Cisco is.

- IE Mock Lab: I was doing Labs 2 and 4. These helped me to see

where I am in my preparations. Also it
is a good
experience to do a full 8 hour lab

- Cisco Docs: As often stated on GS, you need to know
the Docs
and where to find hopefully quickly an
answer
During the lab I used them a few times
the last
three hours. Just to doublecheck if you
are not
                                100% sure

- GS Forum: Great community with a lot of experts
willing to
help and share their knowledge. Helped
me often
to get the last two cents in
understanding some
                                features

Here my study timelines:

I started with the Audio Classes, then Video classes and finished
Workbooks
I, II and III 3 months prior the exam date. The next 3 months I was
repeating the Volume II Labs with a difficult level 6-8. I did also some
Level 9/10 labs but often went only through the solution in detail.

End of November I did the first Mock Lab, mid of December the second.
First week in January I completed the ASET Labs a second time.
Last week before the exam I did two Volume II labs and went through all
Cisco Docs and through my notes.

I am sorry for the long post :-)...but I hope it maybe helps you a bit
in your preparations.
I wish all of you which are currently studying all the best and good
luck.
Your big day is waiting for you :-)

Also I would like to say thank you to all the experts here on the GS
list
which really spend their time in sharing their expertise.
Also a big thank you to the IE team for having great products and a good
support.

So now my next task will be doing sports again and loosing all the
weight
I put on during my studies :-)

Regards

Marijo Bernardic
