Hi John.

On the 3550 and 3560 Cisco switches - if you set the Spanning Tree
mode to MST - you are automatically setting RSTP. Rapid Spanning Tree
Protocol does not use the concept of timers for moving a port from
blocking to forwarding. RSTP uses a proposal/agreement process to
control this now.

One interesting note is that you still use the PortFast command in MST/
RSTP mode to identify Edge Devices.
