Oh, but I was asking more than that... :-)
In addition to IPP compatibility, there are 802.1p and MPLS EXP that
are also 3 bits. In a complex network that CCIE needs to mess around
with, these all come to play and need to interact. Having 6 bits in
one place and 3 bits elsewhere is a challenge that needs creativity to
overcome -- at least awareness :-). This is what I was aiming for with
my question.
I never said that there WAS an incompatibility, take a careful look at
how I worded the question. Sometimes question can ask you about
something that is wrong and expects you to recognize that... ;-)
