RE: First attempt; No pass; need suggestions

Sort of. What I was trying to say is that *doing* labs by typing in commands
for hours on end is less beneficial than *reading* solutions to the labs.

Whilst this isn't normally true for relational topics (like Layer 2 or
routing protocols), for topics like IOS/IP Services or Security (and to some
degree QOS) where the challenge normally lies in identifying the isolated
one- or two- line command reading is a more logical study tool than typing.

The way to work out how to study for what is best understood by "how is it
likely to be graded?". If it is graded based on functionality then you
should be learning to configure it and simulate the grading method yourself,
by testing it in your lab. If it is likely to be graded based on typing the
correct command, then the best way to learn it is to start remembering the
commands (or at least what the commands do and where to find them on the
documentation).

So for some topics doing labs is best, for other topics reading lab
solutions is best. Each person should be able to identify which method will
help them best for each particular topic.

Jared,

"Familiarity with Proctor Guides is the best way to achieve
this (practice labs aren't really going "

I don't understand what you mean by this as proctor guides are basically the
solutions for practice labs. This is the same thing I thought?
