I would be pretty confident to agree with them that no matter how popular
things become, the concept of there being more than 9999 CCDEs within a
particular year is really NOT going to happen!

I do not think that the CCDE format (8 digits, starting with the year, e.g.
CCDE #20080001)
is cool. It's too long to fit nicely in a business card. In addition, Cisco
is too confident that the last 4 digit is enough for all people who achieve
that certification within a year :-))
