Cant figure out this task logic, it is simple but seems like i didnt get the
logic right (Embarrasing)
- Broadcast packets should not exceed 500Kbps of the traffic received on any
port belonging to VLAN8.
- Customers in VLAN8 on SW4 will be connecting using FastEthernet NIC cards
running at 100Mbps.
- Configure SW1 and SW2 to reflect this policy
- SW2 F0/8 > connecting to customer
- SW1 F0/3 > connecting to Router FastEthernet
My understanding for calculating the value using this command
storm-control broadcast level X ; where X = 500K / Interface B/W
since now the FastEthernet interface is at 100M
shouldnt the calculation be 500 000 / 100 000 000 = 0.005 ?
SG is
SW2
storm-control broadcast level 0.5
SW1
storm-control broadcast level 5
Can some kind soul verify is my understanding is right, or how did SG derive
on the figures.
Read through the DOCCD, this command can takes up to 2 decimal places only,
say 0.05.
Thanks for any kind replies.
Cheers
