The RIP instance is only locally significant, similar to the OSPF process in
IPv4 (as well as OSPF process in IPv6). It does not carried in the
advertisement.
You can get IPv6 RIP routes advertized sucessfully between two routers using
two different RIP process ID. When you show ipv6 rip database, the output
shows you what local RIP database learnt in each RIP processes.
R1#sh ipv rip database
RIP process "RIP", local RIB
2001:3::/64, metric 2, installed
Serial1/1/FE80::C002:1FF:FED8:0, expires in 178 secs
2001:13::/64, metric 2
Serial1/1/FE80::C002:1FF:FED8:0, expires in 178 secs
R3#sh ipv rip database
RIP process "RIPng", local RIB
2001:13::/64, metric 2
Serial1/2/FE80::C000:1FF:FED8:0, expires in 174 secs

thanks Huan. I shld have written the question properly.
the tag i was talking about was the tag I would give to a instance like
below
int f0/0
ipv6 rip SW1-3-R3 enable
I guess in the first place the question is
a) Does that tag we give for a RIPng instance get carried with every route?
b) if it does, can we see it in another router for a particular router and
if so which command.
thanks
