Hi again,
Well now this is the question ya " All the existing and future prefixes,
from as 300 should have the following parameters applied: and then the
question goes on to specify certain dampening parameter values."
In the solution a regexp of ^300$ is used to match the routes, this reg exp
is used for routes that originate from 300 or have only 300 in the as-path.
But if you read the question again its says that *"routes from as
300"*which includes all the routes that pass from the as 300 as well,
yeah they
dont originate ya.. But then the question is not exclusively saying anything
about it. As a result I would rather go with more generic reg exp of ^300_
..init !?
This to me looks like a proctor question, can Narbik Sir please answer this
..as he would be the best proctor for this lab he has set. :D
Btw, this is the routing table on R2 on which dampening has to be done,
R2#sh ip bgp
BGP table version is 8, local router ID is 2.2.2.2
Status codes: s suppressed, d damped, h history, * valid, > best, i -
internal,
r RIB-failure, S Stale
Origin codes: i - IGP, e - EGP, ? - incomplete
Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path

*> 2.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 0 32768 i
*> 3.0.0.0 131.1.23.3 0 0 300 i

Btw, I am kicking some butt hard as far as bgp dampening is concerned.
Regards,
Andy.
