Hi Salah,

By default, multicast traffic is replicated to all devices under NBMA
network even some devices do not want this traffic. In order to prevent
multicast traffic to be sent to unwanted devices in NBMA network, PIM can be
configured in NBMA mode using the ip pim nbma-mode command
Cisco Doc CD:
http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipmulti/configuration/guide/imc_over_atm_p2m
p_ps6350_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html#wp1057850

For example, on a Frame Relay multipoint interface, by default, multicast
traffic is sent over all PVC even some PVC do not need it. PIM NBMA mode
prevents multicast traffic being sent over to unwanted PVC.

Makes it so that when you get a PIM Leave message it doesn't clear all of
the joins on that interface.
