To make an SSG cluster , You need to have an HA link , means a dedicated
port will be used on both FWs (In Zone HA). This link is used to send the
keepalives and cluster specific info from peer to peer.

While, Sub-Intefaces are used to pass the traffic of different VLANs through
the FWs.

Now , according to you question, you can make a sub-interface as a memeber
of HA zone. but its not recommended, and in some Screen OS, it wont work as
well.
